the house of bedlam was formed during the summer 2007 and performs electronic and instrumental music with spoken word mainly written by themselves but also by other artists they admire. Within the ensemble they perform as a sextet, trio, various duos and solo electronics. To date they have performed at various venues in Manchester, at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and have attended a residency at Aldeburgh Music. Although an experimental classical ensemble they are elusively influenced by aspects of blues, rock and folk. In 2008/2009 they are appearing in the Cutting Edge series in London’s Warehouse, in the Purcell Room, returning to the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, performing at openhouseMusik in Berlin and attending a residency at Scotland’s Cove Park.
