the house of bedlam was formed during the summer 2007 and performs electronic and instrumental music with spoken word mainly written by themselves but also by other artists they admire. Within the ensemble they perform as a sextet, trio, various duos and solo electronics. To date they have performed at various venues in Manchester, at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the Aldeburgh Festival, the Purcell Room, the Warehouse as part of Sound & Music’s Cutting Edge series, at the Macbeth in Hoxton and have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3. In 2008 they attended a residency at Aldeburgh Music and their second residency takes place at Cove Park, Scotland, in December 2009. Although an experimental classical ensemble they are elusively influenced by aspects of electronica, blues, rock and folk.
